Siding is up, but there are spots I don't like. Most the contractor agrees with. They will have siding guy come back out again to fix spots that are unprofessional. Got to give him credit for working in the hot sun and so long of days, but hey, it needs to look a lot better. There are bumps on the corners of white, yes I can imagine it is hard to bend metal perfect, but it should look smoothe.
The little piece on the corner should look a little more professionally done. Yes, they agree.
This is just a piece I don't like. Yes normal, yes covered by dirt eventually, but just not so perfect before I even move in. Ha.
Ok, so here is where we differed. If you can see there is a pattern to the siding that shouldn't be there. Three diagonals. Although it is nice, it did not continue up the house, nor on the front, nor on the back, nor on the other side. Therefore, this side of the house looks awkward. Their only rule to siding is that there cannot be one right on top of it, and therefore it passes the test. But there is several directly above it a few sidings up. The contractor talked to his boss and apparently pulled strings and they are redoing it. I'm sure I won't love it, bc the awkward staggared look on other houses, meant to look like wood, isn't too great either. I know, never pleased, but at least I can say there isn't a pattern that might cause a problem when trying to resale it in a few years.
The siding guy didn't add connecting pieces between the windows and we can see the silver paper behind. Although, the contractor says that the house is so insulated no water will get in, he agrees it needs a piece for making pleasing to the eye.
I think I was just taking a pic of all the nails on the yard that we have to watch out for. They say they use a magnet to pic it up, but I'm sure we will find nails as the kids explore the yard. Or if I ever do a garden.
I'm having them redo the glue a little better. He agreed on the pipes, I'll see if I get any for the vents. His excuse was that the glue is so hard to use, that if you use your finger to smoothe it, you are in essense making a mess worse.
Front door is on, dry-wall is up.
So, there it is in all its glory for now. Shiny, sealed, and soon to be delivered.
