Better than dirt!

So, the siding guys are back fixing the side of the house and small areas. If you have been following my blog, they had a patter up the side of the house, only on one side. That didn't look bad, but bc it wasn't on any  other side of the house, well, I just wasn't going to have that now was I.
Drive way is down, I sure wish they had made more of a diagonal walk way, the straight curve look is weird, but it's poured and voila. Everything is getting done.
No pattern, not pretty either, but no pattern and therefore when we sell, there won't be that odd discussion will there.

 Here today!
 Gone the next.
Although, our yard is half the size the saleswoman and man led us to believe, we will just have to go with it. You would think they would know where to start walking with the property lines by now, but no. Oh well. Kids have plenty of places to play outside the fenced in yard I guess.
Cover is in and is now filled.
Sidewalks are down too, and well we drove by Sunday and there was someone walking down our driveway. I guess it is customary for everyone to check out the houses being built if the doors are unlocked and peek in the windows if they are.
Dirt is smoothed and ready for landscapers. They even found a bigger second rock.

This area needs to be taken up and so does that one. Please don't just lay sod over it. Nope they just tore it up and reused that dirt to fill in holes. Oh well. Recycling is usually good I guess, just hope yucky grass doesn't grow back in my good grass.

They planted a big tree in my yard without asking. I didn't know they would plant one. Who plants a huge tree blocking the beautiful view. Certainly not me. But I held my tongue and didn't ask them to move it 2 ft to the right. I mean it is in front of the far window, but. still. Uhh anyways.

I did however, after much thinking tell Cliff to tell the manager when he met him at 4 pm to remove these dead looking bushes from both sides of the garage. I know they are not in bloom now, but I don't want anything that could scratch the cars or well more important looks dead and not in season now or well all year round. They said they would plant two green bushes but couldn't guarantee year round greenness. Oh well.

Is it just me our should there be symmetry. I mean why plant one tall bush on one side and not the other. I know I am so picky.

Another tree that well looks kinda like a weeping willow like tree. We will have to see how it does. All in all. It looks definately better than dirt.

Long time no see!

Yes, It has been a while since I uploaded pictures. I could say I have been busy, which is true, but just not enthusiastic enough I guess would be a better choice of words. We are down to about 2 and a half weeks til we close and it has just been a whirlwind since Cliff was out of town for a while and it was up to me and my realtor to keep them straight. I think we did ok, but it is just a house.

A Scratch, can you see it! We didn't do it.

Look at that, they keep it all wrapped up to protect it, but sawdust is inside. Go figure!
 A rail!
 A gap!
 The gap is bigger!

I know it looks fine, but this bothers me because it is right next to the door and i will see its uneven, non smooth texture everyday. Oh well.
For a new house it sure is dirty. I really took picture bc the top part there is cruddy workmanship.

They are already vacuuming for the carpet, what?  No, no, no you can't put carpet in before the second painting and touching up.  I guess they did.
Oh how safe is that. Nails pointing up by front door. I sure hope they don't just fill in that hole and my kids jump on it. So much for safety, Oh that must be why they have steel toed boots.
Um there is a whole at the top of my pantry door. I hope that gets fixed. I'm sure they will just caulk over that.
Shelves are in all over the house.
 Rails are stained.
Umm. I am no craftman, but the basement stairs come up from right and this is ending bc joint, but is it only me that it looks funny and unfinished when it is actually finished, minus paint. It is like it stopped mid wall, and it did.
Carpet is in. I don't even remember what we picked, so they could have brought the wrong color and I not know it.

Granite is in, and I like it. I was so worried I wouldn't bc they say it could look totally different from the one you picked bc all rock is different.  Those sheets are their to do lists. Some items I added, most are normal. I   think they probably think I am picky.

It just hurts your feet when you step from one to another. You would think they could add a soft strip, but no.

There is a whole under the window, I'm sure that will just get caulked too.
And it did. Looks like somebody needs to do it again.

Laundry room tile and a little space under trim.

There is blue tape all around, everywhere marking little touch ups. I am so glad they see them, because I do not. This is Kilee's closet, and I don't see anything wrong, do you.
Looky, my closet has carpet too and my bathroom has knobs. Oh that reminds me. Kilee noticed the knobs on all cabinets. Oh the little things in life. Yes, we have lived without knobs on cabinets for so long, the little things become luxuries.

This seem is so out of place. I tried to find another one anywhere in my master, but no. Why is there a seem mid wall, why didn't they just measure and bring me a full wall board. I don't know. Tacky.
I sure hope this ends up in the trash, because me boys would call it treasure. Mom says it's just junk.

You would think they would have this all figured out before they get to building my house since we did have to wait 7 months before starting. No, somebody didn't tell the electrician that there would be molding in the dining room. Therefore they are not going to just stop on each side of the outlet like they were going to. No, No, Mrs. Nowell will not have it. They say that they can't lower the outlet bc of height restrictions. I say go check again. Oh they did, and the outlet was lowered. It is so odd bc all other outlets in a room are still that height, but oh well. My other suggestion was to just raise the molding under the window. I guess they didn't take the easy route after all.
 Touchy touchy, touch up needed.

Yes, the basement was empty, the carpet was in, and they still needed to do a second coat of paint.

Therefore mom let them do this!
 And that!
 And this one handed!
 And that one hander!

But they will not do that when we move in.
Yeah right, at least when I'm not looking!
Extra, extra. Oh mom what can we use this for? I know, if dad ever gets around to building us that fort, it can go in there mom, right! Right dear, if he ever gets around to it, yes.
That is if it is still here when we move in.
