Adding the Fixings!

Posts are up, need paint, but now I don't worry that it is slumping.
A.C. Unit. I'm not use to the off the ground look, but will do. I just hate that it is the first thing you see when you come into the subdivision and view our home.
You can't see it, but the outside handle is dark and the inside is silver. I hate the difference, but even the model has that.
Molding going in the dining room.

 Entry Living Room and light.

These are the vents that I have to make sure are not covered with a couch. I measured 11 of my feet. We will see.
Here are the cabinets. They look nice. Granite counters will make them even better.

Not in love with the sink, but hey lookie who is in the mirror.
Fireplace, not sure I like the diagonal lines. I know suppose to be elegant. I don't remember it being on the model.
Yeah, a real railing. Although mom thinks some spindles are crooked and that bothers her. We will see.

 Laundry room with tile flooring.
Kilee still begging for the bigger bonus room.
 Master bath.

 Master Closet.

Master bedroom, and yes windows face neighbors.
I have this pic bc these are the lights upstairs, but basement has white finishes, we will have to check the order.

 Basement bath.
As we walked to the basement we definitely noticed the cooler temperature. Sweet even in the heat.

Of all the rooms, the boys for some reason loved the storage room best and wanted me to finish it for their bedroom. That would be a no.

So, there you have it. Progress is fast and we have 3 and a half weeks left til we sign. It's coming up fast.

It needs a redo!

Siding is up, but there are spots I don't like. Most the contractor agrees with. They will have siding guy come back out again to fix spots that are unprofessional. Got to give him credit for working in the hot sun and so long of days, but hey, it needs to look a lot better. There are bumps on the corners of white, yes I can imagine it is hard to bend metal perfect, but it should look smoothe.
The little piece on the corner should look a little more professionally done. Yes, they agree.

This is just a piece I don't like. Yes normal, yes covered by dirt eventually, but just not so perfect before I even move in. Ha.
Ok, so here is where we differed. If you can see there is a pattern to the siding that shouldn't be there. Three diagonals. Although it is nice, it did not continue up the house, nor on the front, nor on the back, nor on the other side. Therefore, this side of the house looks awkward. Their only rule to siding is that there cannot be one right on top of it, and therefore it passes the test. But there is several directly above it a few sidings up. The contractor talked to his boss and apparently pulled strings and they are redoing it. I'm sure I won't love it, bc the awkward staggared look  on other houses, meant to look like wood, isn't too great either. I know, never pleased, but at least I can say there isn't a pattern that might cause a problem when trying to resale it in a few years.
The siding guy didn't add connecting pieces between the windows and we can see the silver paper behind. Although, the contractor says that the house is so insulated no water will get in, he agrees it needs a piece for making pleasing to the eye.
I think I was just taking a pic of all the nails on the yard that we have to watch out for.  They say they use a magnet to pic it up, but I'm sure we will find nails as the kids explore the yard. Or if I ever do a garden.
I'm having them redo the glue a little better. He agreed on the pipes, I'll see if I get any for the vents. His excuse was that the glue is so hard to use, that if you use your finger to smoothe it, you are in essense making a mess worse.

Front door is on, dry-wall is up.

So, there it is in all its glory for now. Shiny, sealed, and soon to be delivered.

Pre-Dry Wall

So we had our pre-dry wall walk through. I videoed and took so many pics my hands hurt. However, I know where to hang pics and not to hang pics for the pipes. The guy on left was our construction manager, but we have been handed over to another guy. The man on right is our realtor Tom. He is great. He use to do construction, so he is helping us look at everything.
Doesn't Cliff look so nice in his little outfit. Shades need to go up, but so serious too.
The kids would have loved to watch the dry-wall go through the windows by crane and hear the huge boom and shake the house when they put it down. Although, all I thought was, "oh, no, I can imagine that is how it will feel and sound with the kids jumping."

These are our shingles. We sure miss the black, but these weather wood are ok. The of course are not the multi-colored a few doors down that I thought they would be, but oh well.

The floor said DW Hole and we didn't know why, but this is why. Down goes the dry-wall to the basement. Then they fill it back in. Well who thought of that. Ha.

It is coming along. Not long now and we can move in.
