Ok, our home buying and building process has been a long time coming. First, we looked online while still living in Hawaii for about 6 months before we came. Upon arriving the homes looked smaller than online, but nice. We could not find an already built home to our liking so we decided to build with Ryan Homes. We didn't want any of the home sites available because they backed up to a neighbor or had soil trouble and cost more than 15,000 for the lot. We decided to wait til the new sections opened up because they were scheduled for last June-July 2011. That did not happen because of 6 weeks of rain and the developer decided to wait..and wait...and wait..til they finally opened it in Dec. 2011. We looked, but did not like any of the lots on the culdesac because their backyards were small and we would be facing construction for 2 years. The developer finally allowed us to get the lot by the model that supposedly everyone has been asking for, but there was one huge condition. We had to wait another 7 months before they would begin construction because they didn't want their pretty model to be obscured by bulldozers during their prime spring-summer season. Oh well. It is now July and we are finally...finally...finally seeing work done. So I have created this site to keep up with everything we do, so family can see, and to finally get us excited about something. So lets get excited! This is kinda what our home will look like, but it will have another room over the garage with a window, so imagine it coming to a peek.

Here is the site with orange paint for sections. Let's shout for color, progress, or something.
Here come the bulldozers and other powerful equipment. Now we can really see work being done. The kids love to wave and shout, "thanks thats our house", to the workers.
Here are the cement posts that are suppose to help hold up the house because half the house is on softer dirt. I imagined huge thick posts, but no, they were like metal cvp pipe. Oh well, as long as they get the job done.
Foundation down.
Cement! Cement! Cement!
Foundation walls, check.

More Concrete now and even more to come.
So the foundation is done, and they plan to pour the basement and garage floors this week. Our wood frames should be in later this week. It is really shaping together quickly in two or so weeks it has been.
Oh Ravenna, you've begun at last.
